Brian Silver is CEO of the world's largest coffeehouse chain in the world, Silver Coffee. Growing up in a wealthy family, Silver had it all money, fame, and any man he wanted, but that was never enough. Silver wants more.

Greyson Black is a coffeehouse barista in one of the Silver Coffee chains in downtown Manhattan. Greyson is finishing school and determined to find the best path for his life. When Brian Silver makes a "surprise" stop at the franchise, he's more than intrigued by the young, gorgeous Greyson. Silver knows that there's only one thing that he must have now, and he will do whatever it takes to get him.

When Silver and Greyson get together, sparks fly. Silver is perfect in Greyson's eyes, but is love blind? A mysterious stranger is out for Greyson, and the mind games have just begun. Greyson starts to question everything, including Silver's advances. When danger is lurking around every corner, no one is safe. Greyson will have to determine if love is worth the danger and excitement.

Silver Black (Audible Audio Edition) Tyler May Guy Locke Tantor Audio Books

Hurray for Tyler May’s "Silver & Black," the ultimate antithesis of the Fifty Shadesbillionaire trope.

Greyson Black is a struggling college student/barista from the wrong side of the tracks, who thinks he loves Jeff, the closeted owner of the coffee franchise where he’s employed. When Jeff’s six-month female fiancé walks in, Black handles it with maturity, despite his pain.

It helps that Black met a gorgeous man at a club the night before. That said man (Brian Silver) arrives at the coffee shop to flirt, just before the fiancé, and Greyson is bowled over to learn Silver owns the coffee shop franchise and last evening’s club. Besides, Brian is kind, smart, responsible, and already appears to be completely enthralled by Black. To further stir Greyson’s interest is Silver’s degenerative eye disorder that may cause blindness. Silver has hidden depths.

Unlike Fifty Shades’ Christian Grey, Silver is gentle and considerate. But, he also tells Black, “‘Chance is sometimes man-made.’”

Will the true reason for their ‘coincidental’ meetings jettison the relationship? And did Silver pay the man who’s been following Black, to stalk/keep tabs on him?

Also unlike the Fifty Shades trilogy, Brian and Greyson have a mutual relationship, one where Silver’s controlling nature is openly discussed, and labelled a character flaw. Their equalitarian relationship is much more realistic.

It is Silver who appears innocent. (Or is he?) His wealth isn’t equated with undue power, but rather as a coddling factor. He wants to protect Black, but does he have the wisdom to do so?

Even, if we guess the nature of Silver’s ‘coincidence,’ it doesn’t explain all the events Black has encountered.

While Brian romances Greyson to drop his guard, we cringe guessing a more sinister plot to be revealed. But is it Silver who is sinister? Or will the danger be aimed at Silver?

Written in the first-person present, like Fifty Shades, Black narrates his experiences as they are happening. We don’t know others’ motivations. We only learn what jaundiced his view of love when he reveals his history to others. The immediacy helps readers empathize with his many ambivalence's, heightening the drama as he is swept off his feet.

We watch the two men struggle to earn each other’s respect. Sexuality is used as an appropriate mirror of their moods and the depth of their intimacy, ranging from lust to loving, convincingly drawn to further the plot.

I had to read this book in a single sitting, and enjoyed every moment of humor, every romantic gesture, and every curve ball.

In the dedication to "Silver & Black," we discover May wrote this book in honor of her deceased twin. And honor her, it does. Congratulations! This is an oldie, but goodie worth the investment for delightful escapism.

Silver Black (Audible Audio Edition) Tyler May Guy Locke Tantor Audio Books Reviews

Day or night, Black or Silver, life is different and it bring different types of relationships. I enjoyed reading Silver and Black, I couldn't stop reading this digital download down. I looked forward to going to bed just so I could read about Silver and Blackread every night, before I drift off to sleep. I look forward to the continuation. If you enjoy romance, if you feel romance is still out there, and alive, download Silver and Black and enjoy, I did!
This book was recommended to me by another author, and I am glad she did. The title and the character names are very stylish and sexy. Brian Silver is one mysterious man, and kept me guessing all the way up until the end. Greyson Black's is a college student who has a painful past, and has been terribly hurt by past lovers. They begin to date, and sparks immediately fly between them. They grow together. Silver learns to live outside of his well controlled, precisely defined, self imposed limitations. Black learns that he is not broken, and is worthy of a good man's attentions.
Together, they learn trust and love. I can't wait to read the next installment of this series, and hope to see more of Levi, the quirky roommate who made me laugh every time he spoke.
Silver and Black come from completely different worlds. They both know that you have to work for what you want, and what it's like to have things thrown at them.

I like both characters; however, would have loved to also gotten the POV from Silver. Simply because it would be interesting to see how his mind worked, even more then what he 'spoke' to in the book.

I did not expect some of the twists and turns, but they all added perfectly into the story.
Well, Brian Silver and Greyson Black have just made my list of favorite MM Couples and I cannot wait to visit with them again! Silver and Black is a well-written, satisfying read with characters that you will come to love, the requisite bad guys, emotional angst and some action too.
Grey is a 22 year old college senior and a barista at one of Silver Coffee's shops in NYC. He has also been having an affair with his boss, Jeff for about a year and a half although Jeff swears that he is straight. Convinced that he is in love, he waits patiently for Jeff to come to terms with his true orientation, unaware that his boss and lover has been keeping secrets from him and outright lying to his face. When the truth comes out, Grey breaks things off with Jeff, angry with himself for allowing yet another man to use and hurt him. Having survived more than one tragedy during his young life he is sure that he will get through this latest betrayal too.
Meanwhile, he finds himself inexplicably drawn to the CEO of Silver Coffee, Brian Silver, the handsome billionaire that had been buying him drinks all night just before his world had been blown to pieces. Deciding that one night of mindless sex is just what he needs right now, he accepts Brian's offer to join him at his penthouse. Brian wants a lot more than sex from Grey though and so the two of them begin a slow and sensual getting-to-know you dance. Grey has never experienced a man like Brian before and he basks in his attention although he's unwilling to let his new lover support him financially or spoil him with outrageously expensive gifts. Brian really seems just too good to be true and in fact, he does have more than a few secrets of his own.
There is just so much to this story, so much emotional push and pull, so many interesting characters both good and bad, some mystery and a very satisfying twist at the end. The sex scenes are very well-written too, not over the top or crass in any way. Another highly recommended read!
